This course will be hands-on and cover the skills necessary to wire a solar system in the developing world. In addition, it will include information not usually discussed in other courses -- working with partner NGOs in other countries, considering cultural issues, identifying local stakeholders to operate and/or maintain the system, the logistics of procuring equipment, identifying possible productive uses (livelihood income) of the system in addition to lighting, and lessons from GE's experiences over the last 10 years.
